What’s the fastest you’ve ever prepared for a bike tour? Or for any type of adventure/vacation?
I wouldn’t say I’m a BIG planner. I love leaving a good deal up to chance and to what’s tugging at my heart in the moment. However, I do typically loosely plan an adventure several months in advance so I have time for my brain to sit with it, think about what I envision for the trip, and to accomplish some of the necessary tasks ahead of time.
My recent bike tour from Toronto to Montreal though, was another story entirely.
Although my partner, Michael, and I had been talking about this trip for a few months, after my wrist surgery got postponed, I really wrote off my ability to do it entirely. I was completely shocked when my recovery went much better than anticipated and I was cleared to do a bike tour.
With the cold weather creeping in we knew we needed to do the ride sooner rather than later. But with various commitments delaying our preparation time, it all came down to the wire and needed to be planned in just 4 DAYS.
Did we manage to make it happen? Find out in this VIDEO:
